Нефинитный (неличный) оборот - это синтаксический оборот, в качестве сказуемого которого выступает неличная форма глагола (см. Finite and non-finite verbs). Нефинитный оборот обычно является зависимой частью сложноподчиненного предложения (Complex sentence). К нефинитным оборотам относятся:
1) инфинитивный оборот (Infinitive clause)
Сказуемое - инфинитив

He went to London to see his parents. — Он поехал в Лондон навестить родителей.

2) причастный оборот (Participle clause)
Сказуемое - причастие

The guard was sitting upon a stool, reading a newspaper. — Охранник сидел на табуретке и читал газету.

3) герундиальный оборот (ing- clause)
Сказуемое - герундий

Playing soccer is my hobby. — Играть в футбол - мое хобби.
